8 celebrities with their own vineyards and wineries: from Donald Trump and the Beckhams to Brad Pitt

1. Madonna

Just as she’s an OG music veteran, Madonna isn’t new to the wine game either. In fact, her father Silvio Ciccone started the family vineyard in Michigan almost 30 years ago and it’s been their passion ever since. Last year, however, they decided to sell, and the vineyard is now on the market for an impressive US$4.9 million, per OK!

2. David and Victoria Beckham

According to CBS News, David Beckham bought a vineyard in Napa Valley for Victoria Beckham’s birthday in 2008. It wasn’t long after the footballer had moved to LA Galaxy, so perhaps – in light of the recent Netflix documentary – it was something of a peace offering. The Inter Miami owner reportedly paid a seven figure sum for it, per the same source.

Before Brad there was Jonny – so where’s Angelina Jolie’s first husband now?

3. Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz joined forces with her friend Katherine Power in 2020 to produce the most unadulterated wine they could. The actress once told InStyle she was horrified to discover that the average wine can have over 70 additives in it, or worse.

Enter their brand Avaline, which sells exclusively organic, vegan, additive-free wine and has been so successful they’ve sold over US$20 million worth of wine since inception, according to Forbes.

4. Cara Delevingne

Cara may be teetotal now, but back in 2020, she and her sisters Chloe and Poppy launched a brand of Prosecco in collaboration with the Biasiotto family vineyard in the Italian Dolomites. Called Della Vite, the trio have created five Proseccos to date, including the Della Vite Prosecco DOC Rosé Millesimato 2021, which even won the “Master” medal in the prestigious Global Prosecco Masters, per Forbes.

5. Dwayne Wade

NBA star Dwyane Wade has been in the wine game for almost 10 years already, launching Wade Cellars back in 2014. The brand stemmed from his passion for Napa Valley’s cabernet sauvignons, according to its website. He partnered with the local Pahlmeyer family to launch his own brand, and it remains one of his biggest passions. He’s even on the executive leadership board of the world-renowned School of Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis.

6. Brad Pitt

In 2008, then-couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie splurged US$27 million on the Miraval estate in Provence where they previously held their wedding, including its vineyard and winemaking facilities, according to The Independent.

However, since their divorce, it’s caused nothing but trouble between the pair. While each initially owned 50 per cent, Jolie sold her half to Stoli Group in 2021, which Pitt claims she had no right to do. Her lawyers countered by saying the Fight Club actor had behaved like a “petulant child”, spending a fortune on “vanity projects” at the property, per The Independent.

7. Donald and Eric Trump

But of course there’s a Trump Winery. In 2011, The Apprentice star bought the Virginia vineyard at a foreclosure auction for half what it was thought to be worth, according to Casewinelife.com. The famously teetotal former Potus then made his son Eric president.

“Stepping into the world of winemaking has been unbelievably rewarding,” Eric writes on the winery’s website, adding that the vineyard is “the largest winery on the East Coast and one of the most spectacular properties anywhere in the world”.

8. Keira Knightley

The Love Actually actress bought the small Les Cinq Puits vineyard in Rhône region of southern France in 2013, with her Klaxons musician husband James Righton. And while it’s unclear whether the couple still own it, the Wine Society praised the vineyard’s 2015 vintage in particular, calling it “a fine elegant red, full and spicy nonetheless and exuding Provençal summers with hints of fig and herbs”.
